The Department of Sanskrit started its journey with Bachelor of Arts programme in 2013 affiliated to the Sidhu-Kanho-Birsha University in the year 2014. University gave the permission to introduce Honours course in Sanskrit. Gradually the number of the students has been increased time to time and day to day. The Department recurrently organizes Seminar, Workshop and Lecture programme. Since inception the department has remained engaged in popularizing the study of Sanskrit language and literature in the region. The Department also organizes Sanskrit literary programme in the rural areas. The area covers Vedic, Poetic, Philosophical, Grammatical and Scientific studies. The objective of our Department is to establish literary, cultural, moral and sacramental importance of Sanskrit in the present social context and values.
